Huge in Europe's house party 2008 a HUGE success

You may not know it, but they're all around you. They breathe the same air, share the same streets, they may even work in the cubicle next to you.

In recent years, the dream of being Huge in Europe has become more and more prevalent among Americans. It seems to have started with David Hasslehoff in his transformation from Baywatch Beach Stud to European Pop Icon. The seed may have been planted long ago, but we are in the midst of its budding into something new, something different, something Huge.

Recently, at an undisclosed location somewhere in America, hugeineurope.org hosted a party where those sharing this dream could come together and let their inner Huge-in-European shine. For just one night, at the Huge in Europe Party 2008, everyone gathered to let loose the bonds of their American Style and don the glory of shiny pants, dazzling jewelry, and painfully stylish shoes to unleash that bit in each of us that dreams of being Huge in Europe. And I was there to see it all, to bring the experience back to you. Names have been changed to protect the identities of those who are not yet ready to make public this dream, but I assure you the events are real.

The purpose of this party was not merely to provide a place for this group of aspiring Huge in Europeans to live out their dreams for one night. The party was an event meant to raise awareness of this phenomenon as it slowly works its way throughout of America. "Others who dream of being Huge in Europe are out there, and they may feel like they're the only ones. The spirit of togetherness makes the dream an empowering reality, and not one to be ashamed of. That's what this party is all about," said one attendee, who prefers to be named only as Kojak.

It was a liberating sensation being among unhindered Huge-in-Europeans as they bluntly stared at each other over the rims of glass goblets full of brightly colored cocktails. As the evening progressed, the lights dimmed and the music pulsed, and some fantastical dance moves were unleased on the main floor as others looked on, seemingly bored but actually quite interested in the midst of their non-chalant conversations. I must admit that I, too, felt the tug of desire to be just a tiny bit Huge in Europe myself. Seeing this group's dreams become a reality inspired me to explore my own inner Huge-in-European. I can only hope that it will one day be as Huge as theirs.

And now I invite you to experience the Huge in Europe Party 2008. Explore, enjoy, and of course, vote. And hopefully along the way, you shall be inspired.
